I just bought T610 abt a month ago. I'm quite happy with the phone except for the following :

    1. OTA problem for setting up of GPRS/WAP/MMS/Internet
    2. The joystick is not very responsive eg there's a 1 - 2 secs lag before the menu/option pops up. If you select the options too fast, the phone hangs.

But generally speaking, it's good value for money, taking into account the features that come with the phone.

    I love this phone!

Small, light, superb industrial design. You will love this phone too if u dun sms much and dun mind the slightly slow speed of the phone processor.

Wait till u use a T68, then u know what is slow

even my SMS box is empty, it already take a few secs to open

when it is 50% full...need to wait more than 10s

btw, when your T610 SMS box is half full, are there any slow down when u open SMS? thinking of getting

i had it for a few days. Couldn't stand the lag. Gave up for nokia 7250i instead.
It does have lots of features but I just couldn't get used to it.

I think regardless of whether there are msgs in my Inbox, response is still slow.

using SMS in Ericsson phones has always been a pain, although it does improve a bit now on SE phones...

My previous experience with Ericsson T39 was horrible...It was s-l-o-w & laggy...
Felt like breaking tat damn thing everytime I used it...
But it was the most hi-tech phone at tat time...

Nokia is still the king for SMS, very responsive keypad & menu...

But in term of features & technology, SE is second to none...

try flash to the latest firmware...the respond is SIGNIFICANTLY faster

the controls take some getting used to but I'm quite happy with it. the autospell for sms can be improved.. not used to moving my thumb to the mouse to scroll through the words

anyone had problems with the phone hanging? I can't restart the phone when it hangs and I have to take the battery out and puting it back again to 'restart'

The hanging is due to the software within the phone and you have to get it upgraded at the service center. Didn't know about this and had to buy a replacement for my daughter before discovering the problem .. what luck!

The T630 is already announced, should be out shortly. see www.infosyncworld.com. But personally, I am waiting for the Nokia 6230, to be released in 2004, with 65000 colour screen finally, tri-band, bluetooth, vga camera and mp3 player, and multi-media card expandability (what's the point of having ability to play mp3 or take pictures if u dun have extra memory?). Of course i would have preferred SD card compatibility instead, but hey seeing what's available on the market now, i will take the 6230 happily, when it comes.

I like T610 can be customized with different themes.
Best of all, the bright screen is the best to meet so far.

    I give 4/5.

    Go for it.
