Questions
Q) Is this bootcamp suitable for me? As the name implies, the bootcamp starts the day with intensive knowledge and theories segment, and we go straight into practice and more practice. By the end of it, you will be more in tune with your camera gear, start to pay attention to common mistakes and understand better approaches to getting better pictures. This bootcamp is suitable for people who are new to digital photography, as well as those who know something but wish to find out how to improve further, and to solve common real world photography problems. We help people in the first group by explaining seemingly confusing technical concepts with plain English and interesting analogies. We help people in the second group by troubleshooting what they might be doing incorrectly, and by reinforcing concepts. Both groups will benefit tremendously from inputs and feedback from our instructor(s) from camera handling to composition to solving photography problems. Finally, the additional travel component of this bootcamp helps our participants to apply what they learn in our bootcamp to their overseas photography experience. Q) Do I need an external flash for the night outing? You do not need an external flash if your camera has a built-in flash. Q) Do I need a tripod? A tripod opens up your possibilities of photography, especially in the areas of night/lowlight and creative photography. Some people dislike using a tripod but that also means that some kind of photography would be naturally more difficult to achieve.*Modern DSLRs offer ways for you to tackle lowlight photography without the use of a tripod, but that comes with some compromises to absolute image quality. We'll cover these in our lessons and you'll be able to make a better judgement call.
