VY? seriously? mate it's been replaced by the VE.... you're probably looking at the SS or the SS-Vs.

personally I wouldn't mind a Holden if it wasn't for their amazingly 1) bad resale value, 2) bad build quality some times, 3) attraction of the police, depending on the car, 4) attraction of bogans who want to drag race you.

then again, for the money, I'll rather import a HSV or a FPV vehicle. but that's just me.

and PS, I'm a Ford man.
    chicken fight!

but HSV. when will the day come i test drive it. =(

nah mate. you have to agree, though, that them made in Aussie muscle cars don't hold their resale values well. my old Ford Falcon XR6 got such a horrendous amount of money over a period of 3 years, I swear selling my kidney would have been more profitable.

as for the HSV / FPV, walk in to any dealership and ask for a test drive. of course, dress professionally and be professional about it. the Ford F6 Typhoon? mmmmm. and the HSV R8? swooooooon.

muscle car at its finest. but unfortunately, not what this thread is about since them two cars aren't exactly muscle car-ish.

if i had abt 250k to splash again, i personally would get the cayenne, but that might appear too guy`ish.
so i would highly suggest the Cayman or Boxster 2.9.
reason being, i didnt really like the s5 THAT much after being around it... like there wasn't anything special.. you turn ur head to look at it once and go wow. but 1 hour later around it, the effect wears off.
but thats just me, it mind not make sense to you... like to many pple on how i find the nicest audi out there now is the newer A4.

besides, your views on monetary growth and assets may differ from the next individual. you think that property holds value the best, other people may not think so. what makes you so sure that she hasn't had money sunk into property anyway?

    take a chill pill mate.
Buying a car in Singapore is not an investment. Correct me if I am wrong.

We have to see if we can handle such a car. Not it's speed, but simple things like parking.

I've seen many struggle with parking when it comes to such sports cars. You have to realise that the GTR and the S5 is much larger and wider + longer. Since the TS has already been driving a ferrari before, the width is not an issue, but length maybe.

Give some considerations when buying your favourite car. I'm not telling you how to spend your money, but rather, some humble friendly advice.

Buy a car that you would like, and something that would make you happy.

    Have fun, car scouting.

    GMAN

gtr is MUCH longer and wider in my impression.
    s5, seems 'normal'.

when i park the GTR in a lot, it protrudes from the parking lot.
    and it's width...goodness.
if beside got car, sure will ding the GTR.
and because it's 2 door, you need to open it wider to get out of the car...if you get what i mean.
and steep slopes GTR's stock front lip will scratch the slope.
so seriously, if you ask me, a S5 is a 'better' day to day car...

it is always a gamble when u buy cars from //.that's why you need to do your proper homework first.
and hear it from horses's mouth which // are 'good'.

Yeap , if i were you, i would go for Audi R8. but its kinda big when parking in HDB. you will need valet parking.

But you choosing between Audi A5 & GTR. I will go for GTR if u needed speed . go for A5 if you just want a slow and steady journey.

it depends on what you deem as an investment. if an investment to you is an avenue of growing funds after a given period of time, then no... cars probably aren't the way to go. unless you're talking about classic cars like the 300SL Mercedes Benz, just for arguments sake.

that's actually the latest incarnation of the HSV range. I think Holden imports them out to America under the Pontiac badge as well. and yah, that's the speed. it's slow, but that's because the car is damn heavy. again, remember. Aussie cars = heavy, generally.

or. I would get the W427. limited edition release, guaranteed to be a Holden classic in the years to come. but alas, Singapore has no market for them Aussie cars (although that being said, I have seen a Commodore running around along Orchard Road before).
