Brand is Steinheizer right?I don't trust their products. All their tripods feel very cheap and flimsy.Go for the better brands such as Manfrotto, Gitzo (VERY EX) and Benro.Dun look down on Benro just because they are made in China. They are actually very good and value-for-money.

Well i am using a steinheizer though, it feels VERY SOLID, and durable, it weighs about 3.2kg. Well apart from the weight, there are 2 problems with my tripod which i didn realised until i bought it.
1) the grease of the ball of the ballhead will show no mercy to stain your palms/shirt
2) the centre axis will roate no matter how tight i screwed that thing in. so when taking low angle shot, when my camera is mounted more than 45 degrees to the axis, my camera will turn down, very very frustrating.

So i dunno if its just the brand, or just the model. maybe you should try other brands

Perhaps you are using it beyond its rating. e.g. have a camera with lens weight above its spec.
