Hi ladies and gents,
im thinking of shooting family portrait for some friends and my family. as it is the first time so i hope some of you can offer me some good advice. im quite new to photography with a 40D, 28-135mm. or should i just go for the package commercial studios are offering. $_$ |

depends on what you want..
if you just want everybody just to have fun, can rent a studio and play with it. if you want results, get someone to do it for you. shooting good studio portrait it is not an instant noodle, it takes a lot of hard work and many years of experience. |

yup , its lots of lighting placement, subject placement n such...
try renting first n speak to the renter.. chances are high tt he guy or gal is also a photographer.. usually they share some tips. read books and look at others' photos to get inspiration :P |

Thanks so much for the valuable replies!
So if I were to rent it for fun shots, what are the things to look out for? e.g lighting etc? anything that i can learn from anyone about studio shots here? |
