You can buy the magazine from Canon Vivocity. The price is $10 and they have limited stock.
I bought mine two weeks ago so I don't know whether they still have them. Call first before going down. This issue has the following articles: 1. Inside the 50D and 5D Mark II. 2. GPS for EOS (Geotagging) 3. How to use A-DEP 4. Alternative techniques if your lens does not have IS 5. Multiple flash techniques with two or more Speedlites 6. Using Canon DPP to edit JPEG files |

If you are a CPS member you get this posted to your mailbox every issue. To be one, just send an application (form downloadable from Canon site) but you need to own and include serial number of at least one xxD series body and one L lens.... and I believe have to somewhat be working in the industry. They requested me to send my business card that time.

Humm....I was wondering why Canon send me the EOS Mag, 5DM2 Mag and the PS-D10 Mag. I think that means my application to CPS is successful. Actually I am not a professional photographer but they still accept my membership. May be because the space for me to fill up the equipment list on the form is too few for me.

I think many members are not even close to semi-pro.

That I would tend to agree. LOL. XD
For Canon SG the requirement to apply for CPS is just one xxD body and one 'L' series lens IIRC....and you also got to tick what kinda photographic line you are working in, from a list (e.g events, wedding, PJ, sports etc) in the application form but thats about it....when u submit they don't bother to check any business card or credentials or such at all that state you are a working semi-pro or pro photog...so basically one does not need to be even a semi-pro to gain membership to CPS. Interestingly requirements for CPS vary from country to country. E.g some countries like UK are much stricter...they require you to have at least two pro bodies or 2 'L' lenses and be at least a working full time professional (or semi-professional) and provide credentials that you are so. The CPS membership in Singapore is actually issued from Canon's head office based in Hong Kong I believe. It takes about 1-2 months for the CPS member card to be issued to you once its been approved. |

Yes, Garion is right on the requirements and that translates to the much 'happening' service/benefits for CPS Members in UK or US. In SG, LOL... nothing, except the parts discount when sending equipment for service.
