cheapest IIRC 630-650. And canon accessories normally don't come with warranty, but they'll work something out if you bring it down anyway.

I know of someone whose 18-200 conked up, and got a 24-70 to use in the downtime

?? Canon Speedlites do come with warranty, unlike other accessories.

To TS, if you're looking for a new set, the last i asked a month ago was when there was a one-off hike for the 580EXII. It stood at an average of $750. you could try the BnS section for cheaper 2nd hand units, although they usually go around $600++ as well.

My 580EX II DOES come with a full 1 year local warranty.
