canon ixus 100 at lucky plaza

i was at lucky plaza last night and went to one of the shop near escallator...i guess is 3rd floor and ask this shop for canon ixus 100 and they quoted me 350 . maybe without gst. i ask the girl if have local warrantty and she says got. can it be trusted and consider its so cheap elsewhere. the cheapest i know is parissilk 413.

My frank advice is: avoid that place like the plague. Most shops there are infamous for overcharging or fleecing unwary customers. There are already numerous cases reported on hwz and similar forums.

Buy from reputable stores better even tho the price maybe a little higher. Search the forums for a list of reputable stores.

If you able to come away with warranty and a price lower than that next cheapest quote, then good for you. Just be aware of the pressure tactics that would most likely be used later on into the deal.

Remember to check if it a grey set(if they specify that it is grey then that is fine, but not if they claim it to be local set), and if it has been refurbished.

they will probably ask u to purchase extra things and charge a crazy price for them.
Make she you have the warranty card, receipt, all the accessories that come with the camera before you pay them.

If you ask me, I will not deal with these kind of shops. Too much stress to make sure I don't get cheated. Check this, check that and watch this, watch that. Making a purchase should not be so high stressed. I want to enjoy my purchase experience and then enjoy the stuff that I purchased.

IMO, not worth the savings (if there are any at the end) and the potential aggravation from this kind of experience.

Lucky Plaza is for Lucky Shopkeepers and Unlucky Shoppers.

I only go to All Watches and House of Times at Lucky Plaza.

Parisilk is $399, $395 if payment is made by cash. Just got a set from them last Saturday. Toshiba Class 4 8GB SDHC and Canon case.

a reliable camera doesnt last longer if you get it from a reliable authorise dealer. avoid these places. camera could have been used before or even display sets. courts have good deals though. or you may wish to wait for the upcoming PC show at suntec.

I personally avoid Lucky Plaza, Pearl Centre, People's Park and Sim Lim Square for consumer electronics. Either you get short-change in terms of accessories, no warranty, etc... lots of stress and arguements when it comes to payments.

It's like a plaza filled with pirates who standby to rob you when you walk in!

Agreed, go sim lim once to ask about canon lens, notice the salesman add 9% gst instead of 7% ...........

Are you sure it is IXUS100? The price I check with Parisilk is also around 413 with GST.

Anyway, I will not buy from Lucky Plaza. As CS Tan said, too much stress.

Yes, I purchased mine from the Transit Road branch.
