Default Is it suitable to use 50mm 1.8F Lens to take full body portrait?

I am going to take full body portrait for friends, can I use 50mm 1.8F lens?

Can, but you must stand damn far away from your subject...

no need ler. 50mm is wide enuff for a full body portrait without standing far, unless its on a cropped factor. if using crop factor then go for the 35mm kens.

you can even use 600mm to shoot full body portrait... the qns is.. how far away you must stand?

back to topic, yes it can be done on a FF relatively well. but 1.6X need to step back!

lolx, using a 600mm to shoot full body portraits? sounds more like using it to shoot chio bu from far far away!

agreed. even a 1200mm lens can take a full body shot.

EVEN A SATTILITE CAMERA CAN TAKE A FULL BODY POTRAIT.Ur model maybe slim,but is she tall?

but will u be able to get that smooth boke?
when i point my 100 f/2.8 at a full body, i seem to see bg as clear as the subject..

from 8mm circular fisheye lens to to 2000mm super tele photos lens all can take a full length full grown human adult, it all depends how close or how far you want to be between yourself and your subject.

so what is your real question?

Huh? I can achieve full body shots with a nice blurred out background on the 85mm focal length. I'm sure 100mm has more compression. I can also achieve a decent DoF fall off with a 35mm f/2 on the streets.

how far is your background from your subject? thats the impt factor..

I think this comment is really uncalled for. Everyone here were discussing about photography and out of the blue came this kind of statement.

To have such an opinion, I believe the person has to think about this kind of subject all the time in order to see it everywhere he/she looks. Perhaps you are one of those?
