why nowadays offers are no longer offers?

i really dunno how come shops nowadays still dare and bei paiseh put big big normal outside selling prices as sales prices... especially courts, harvey norman etc..

Courts and Harvey Norman usually quote the retail prices on cameras and lenses.

Is this part of the GSS? So many promotions under the name GSS that is just not a good deal at all. Either they try to clear very old stock or jack up price of their regular items and then offer you 50% discount.
