External flash unit for G3

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here. I've got a G3 and I will like to get an external flash unit to go along with it. Does anyone has any good recommendation for either original canon flash or OEM or third part flash units that works well with G3? A million thanks first... =)

Get the Canon 420EX Speedlite, think that is the recommended choice for most G3 owners.
