Hey guys,
I'm currently using a Sony FP-65 compact printer and a Canon iP4680. I love the colors on the iP4680, but sometimes i do massive printing for my family events and printing on film-ink seems to be a cheaper alternative. But the problem here is the color on the Sony FP-65 isn't as nice (less vivid, contrast, rather washed out) compared to the iP4680. Will changing to a Canon Selphy get me similiar results as the iP4680? Thanks! |

I owns a Canon Selphy CP720 and it has done a great job for me. I've recently printed 500 plus copies of my Hokkaido trip photos. All-in-all I guess I've printed almost thousands of copies of photos from the day I bought this machine since 2007. Colour contrast are very good.
Canon iP4680 is an inkjet printer & Canon Selphy runs on a Dye Sublimation Technology and the good thing is that if you've water spilled onto the photo it doesn't wash out the colour or rather say waterproof. You can find out more on this Dye Sublimation Technology from here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dye-sublimation_printer and here http://news.tigerdirect.com/2007/10/...ters-say-what/ The only set back is that this printer only allows you to print up to 4R size photos, whereas the Canon iP4680 can print A4 size. The development cost per photos is about 29¢.
