Konica Minolta A200? I used to have one of those before I moved up to a digital SLR. It does have a filter ring on the front of the lens so you can put an IR filter on it but that was before I got into IR so I did not try it. I think it will work fine but it will require longer exposures so you will want to use a tripod with it.

yeah. i have an IR filter. but its really2 damn troublesome cos i have to focus first before i can screw in the filter. and when i screw in, i would tend to accidentally movie the foucs ring and when at the end, the image turn out to be out of focused. :/
any tips? anw, i saw your IR photos at your photosite. |

If you're using a lens with distance scale, just remember the distance after setting the focus

Looks fine. Do a channel swap if you want blue sky.
A little of over exposure on the sky at the top center and right. |

Grey days do not come out that well as far as trying to get a blue sky since most of the image is often in simliar colors- so it all tends to go blue. You are getting some nice IR with the camers. Good sharpness. I really liked that camera and sometimes wish I still had it (sold it cheap to a friend at work who takes lots of pictures of his kids with it). I think #2 gets too dark here. You can try using some sort of masking (there are different ways you can do this) and just change the color of the sky or you could try just going to black and white. The contrast is great.

Here is my Channel-Mixer version using PS3 and Nikon NX2.....
I do have an A200 coming sometime next week that has been converted...I will post pictures here once I have the camera and take a few test shots.... Hope you like this.... ![]() To get rid of your hot-spot in the second picture stop down the lens to f6 thru f10 and take pictures every stop to figure out the sweet spot for your lens....remeber IR is totaly different than normal light....so stopping down is not a bad thing... That is the name of the game for IR- play around and see what works!
mdzmr- your colors came out pretty nice. Maybe try to lighten the blue and perhaps that will brighten up the buildings?
