Default Recommendation

HI,

With a budget of abt $500. what is the best camera to buy or shall i buy a DSLR? Newbie here, know nothing abt phto taking.

a 2nd hand DSLR perhaps from this forum. I say get a proper point and shoot (P&S). Once you have been shooting for sometime and find that its the camera that's restricting your shots and not your own skills, then consider moving on to a prosumer/super zoom or to a DSLR. No point you get a DSLR now to realise later that all you want is to take casual photos.

You can get a poor condition 400D or a good condition 350D. Increase it a little and you might be able to steal a D60 for $650

If you're looking for a bargain, you can wait around and get a A200 for that money.

get a kit of the D70/D70s with the 18-70

best kit in the world for probably 620

I would recommend that you take a look at the personal classified section in this forum to have a guage of the 2nd hand prices of the cams. Maybe you would like to increase your budget or get a prosumer cam instead.
