Default An Enchanted Lane ...

Sharing one shot from my first roll of film after 10? 15? years of not shooting film. Noob's attempt at using the zone system.

HP5 shot at f/8, 4 seconds with finger on shutter cos no cabel release at that time, film souped in Perceptol and scanned at 24-bit colour, med res.

Thanks Agenda.

That's a good suggestion actually!

But unfortunately I would have gotten a lot of washed out sky at the top.

Wished I had a wider lens though.

Thanks again.

p.s. Hows things about your Sony set?

not exactly sure if there is actually a shot here. although some will tell you that there is going to be a shot everywhere.

anyways, it is a nice try at leading lines, but nothing much more... most of these that i have seen that work well are usually done with mist, which adds a certain type of mood. perhaps a scene more interesting might lend more use to the leading line.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!

Mist would be AWESOME - ANYDAY!

Or even perhaps sun rays.

Sighsss......

Could't shoot any lower as I was on a steepish slope, and this was maxed without railings and stuff getting in the way and no marnie yet for wide lenses.

Anyways, it was a gfun outing to try some film.

Long long way to go in landscape photography ...

Hey ur humble "noob" venture in using the zone system paid off ma. shadows and highlights seemed to have fallen within ur exposure. This is a good start into LF ( I know nuts but seems overwhelming ), and I am confident u will have more exciting takes that we wait to watch!

Thanks for dropping by Ryan, and for leaving a comment.

Still 'noob' lah, really. You should have seen how disasterous the other shots were! Seriously, the Zone System is like that game, Reversi. It takes a few minutes to learn, but a lifetime to master.

Nothing overwhelming about using an all manual lange finder camera. I think using your Mirex set-ups could be more complex for some.

It's as basic as it gets. Just you, the light, a meter and your shutter speed, aperture and choice of film. Can't get more basic than that.

I'm starting out slowly ... it really feels like starting photography all over again, but this time, it gets even better! That's an adventure all by itself right there!

CHEERS!
