    f/4, 1/60, ISO 400/800?

    Flash auto, -1 FEV

think i should go earlier to test some shots hor?
    The baptism is done indoors?

Main subjects of a baptism is the baptising pastor and the person being baptism. If lighting is good, can just use the natural lighting.

I would say, use f/4, 1/100 to 1/125 (freeze motion without use of flash), ISO 400 on Center Weighted metering.

And usually the motion is very fast. Use burst mode for each baptising candidate and pick the best moments. I know it's tedious choosing at the end but it's the best way to have all the best moments.

all current models of dslr are capable of low noise at high ISO, so use it.
dont restrict yourself to only ISO400.

    Use manual to control.

Church lighting is very tricky. Although I shoot at ISO1600 all the time in church services becos no flash allowed, when need to use flash ah, everything goes haywire.

a cousin of my friend (not pro, 1st timer on dslr, crash course 1wk before shooting) used the below setting for the whole wedding dinner, photos turn out better than the AD. 1/60, ISO800, f/4, flash auto + bounce.

woah! serious! hmm. i kindof tested and "estimated" 1/60 should be the least speed i need to achieve to freeze motion bah. its the lighting that's frustrating cuz its not constant as they have many different portions of lighting/floodlights/dimmers etc. drove me nuts!

also goto think fast on feet where to position myself (ahead of all the others!) to capture that shot!

wonder if i can ever do events siah.

Jimmy. Thanks for your 70-200. One photo for you and your lens. Sharp from head to tail.

f/4, ISO400, 1/100 on Center Weighted Average metering.

Only digitally fill flash was done and this is 100% crop.
