Thumbs up K-7 initial user review.

Seems like the AF is really much improved.

wow....all the features I want less the WB is there.
I would have liked a WB button for quick adjustment because I find I needed to adjust that the most for my K200D. But of coursde, if the new auto WB is accurate enough, then that button is moot.
There are 2 cures for my BBB virus..buying the camera and its price.
I prefer not to spend more than $1.3K but from the looks of it, my prediction is the local pricing would be in the range of $1.8K with the 18-55 WR kit lens.

by the way dnaxe, you still straddling on the fence? Forget the neighbours! pentax's grass is green enough!

Decided that a D700 kit was too expensive and heavy...

The TS in DPreview only hinted that the Af on K7 was more responsive. But how accurate the AF-C, stilll remains to be seen ........

Guys, guys, guys.. don't mean to be pedantic, but it is the Pentax K-7.

With hyphen, no "D".

Anyway, I'm sure there will be reviews (esp at dpreview) comparing it to the D300 and 50D and others in same bracket. (Hey, without the "D", it does seem even more different from the numerous confusing "D" models of C & N, haha!)

Fellas...you are getting this waaaaaaaay wrong!
The K7 is not poison...it is the antidote! Like the flu jab, everyone should get it to fight the BBB virus!

The K7 kit is selling for US$1299 in the US, hence there is still hope it will sell for around S$1600-$1800..while above my budget, should satisfy most K20D upgraders...

btw, one of the retailers on Amazon claims to have 2 units in stock...pretty amazing if they are still available judging from the pent-up demand from dpreview.
