Very happy with both LX3 & G1 as I've all the full set of optional lenses for both cameras which covers 18mm-400mm. Thinking of getting the GH-1 instead of getting the Pany M300 HD camcorder and keeping what I currently have. The 28-280mm on the new GH1 should be more than sufficient for my need. Worst case is to get a wideangle and/or tele converter.
I know some may say the f2 from the LX3 will be missing but it doesn't really bother me as I only shoot in iA mode on both cameras and pictures still looks fine to me (I'm just an amateur hobbyist). The whole idea is to just carry 1 item as the G1/G1H is still small enough to fit into my laptop bagpack. Hope the the iA in the GH1 is futher improved so that every shots can turn out like those postcard sold at tourist attraction. Would appreciate some comments from Pany users. |

My friend will be going to NYC end June which should then be available at B&H Photo. If it's still not available here before she leave, I'll get her to get it if it's still going for US$1.5k Must check with local office if it covers warranty in Singapore too. Wondering how much I can get for my LX3 & G1 with all the extra lenses.

just to make sure you know that the US version of GH1 records in NTSC.
Anyway Hong Kong is launching on 26th this month, hopefully Singapore is not too far behind. The Hong Kong pricing on the GH-1 is slightly high though. |

Must check with brother-in-law in HK if this is the right pricing and whether Intl warranty comes with it. The price in HK is almost the same as US$1.5k. PAL or NTSC shouldn't matter as my HD plasma and LCD will work fine. Asking my son in US to scout for best pricing. Check with Panasonic guy and he says any set with Intl warranty will be honoured by them. He won't reveal the local launch date and expected price. Hope it will be available by end-June and cost under S$2k.

yeah, if you are just hooking up directly to your plasma and lcd for viewing, then it's really not an issue...
anyway, I really hope it will hit our shore at the earliest date. Panasonic Singapore is really not saying anything... they even told me the launch will be delayed due to some problem... ![]() Anyway, I might just ask my friend to pick one up from Hong Kong if he is flying there for business. |
