I use lenspen on my lens and my filters. Well, if the strain or dirt is not stubborn, the microfibre cloth might be good enuf to clean.

whether u need it or not, it's always good to have one in your camera bag, just in case. lenspens usually cost about $15. just invest 15 bucks to get one. it's a small price to pay in order to keep your expensive lens in prisitine condition. for me, i have both lenspen and microfibre cloths in my bag.
