Default Chinese Dude & His Craft

I saw this Chinese man making dough dolls along Orchard Road yesterday. Which shot do you prefer? Any comments would be appreciated.

The first shot - but would have liked to see it with more DOF and also changed the angle so could see what he's doing with his hands.

I don't think I could show him doing his craft without moving the dolls out of frame. Furthermore they were the main subject.

Thanks for your suggestion anyway.
