Lightbulb Warranty

May I enquire who is giving lifetime warranty ? And how can we register for warranty ?

Recently, I bought Sandisk 512MB CF Ultra II for $269 at Funan. It came with 12 months 'warranty from the local distributor, Vector. Lifetime warranty is only available from the manufacturer. Note the fine print. Lifetime warranty lasted so long as the manufacturer is still producing this product and version.

Most of what you said is true. To addon to your info, for some manufacturers, a discontinued product will still have a few months of warranty (6 months for example) after its discontinuation.

hi,

just need to know more what do you guys mean by "discontinued product", do you mean only that model or the brand.

if refer to only the model, then it's likely not to last a lifetime, but if it refers to a particular brand (of course the steady ones) think it's likely to be valid for lifespan warranty.

just my $0.02 worth comments.

hi,

my knowledge of "discontinued product" refers to the production of that particular model, for example Transcend's 30x Compact Flash card which was discontinued recently. It does not have anything to do with the brand unless otherwise the company goes bankrupted or taken over by another company, for which new policies may be used to take care of the products. Even a company brand will not gurantee lifetime warranty since no company is guranteed to survive forever.
