DPReview just posted the news too:

    http://www.dpreview.com/news/0905/09...ntaxk7dslr.asp

Pentax has announced the K-7 mid-level DSLR, based around an updated version of the Pentax/Samsung 14.6 MP CMOS sensor. The specifications - magnesium alloy body, 5.2 fps shooting, 720p HD video, 920,000 dot LCD - will not come as a surprise to the Pentax faithful, following comprehensive leaking of its details. However, we've been lucky enough to get hold of a pre-production camera to bring you a detailed hands-on preview of the K-7.

The K-7 will be available in July for a recommended selling price of $1299.95 with the optional D-BG4 battery grip available at the same time for $229.95.
The MSRP is $1299, same as K20D when it was launched. But the battery grip is pretty expensive ...

I agree. K-7 is much simpler. Does away with unnecessary space. Better ergos and looking more edgy and better cutting.
I say the lens is the soul of a camera. What about the body? Well, it's just the body...

Fantastic stuff! I am very interested in these, hope they improve the 50-200 (new 49mm filter size)

I promised myself I'd resist, but I can already feel my wallet itching...the K-7 looks so nice.

SG$1800-2000 is quite reasonable for this feature set I think, considering it's a brand new model; prices will drop within a couple of months.

This is a new cool feature...

Composition Adjustment - the pentax shake reduction system even allow you to recompose a image by simply moving your sensor rather than moving the camera itself, this is ideal for tripod use where you might not want to unseat your tripod has much less move the tripod around.

    Another preview here:
    http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/K7/K7A.HTM

    And it glows..

    Extract:
The Pentax K-7 is most enjoyable to use. Though it's not the first small Pentax I've used, it's easily the most refined. The grip is shorter and closer to the lens, which really helps keep the camera balanced. The K20D's grip, on the other hand, is wide, moving the center of gravity too far from the grip, which makes bringing the camera up to your left hand more of a chore.
