The important thg is abt the color calibration of "white".

Can't comment on that but had tried various method to get the right WB before. Final conclusion, decided to use grey card or tissue paper (cheap and good). We (at least for me) PP most of the pics and "what's the right WB" then? As long as its pleasent to the viewer, that's fine for me.
Had not tried Expodisc - heard to be very accurate but ex. I tried macdonald cup cover before and it's pretty good. |

looks practical, i wonder if you need to use spot metering for that though.

useful yes... practical depends... if its under control condition, like doing a commercial shoot, studio, product etc...or u got lots of time to adjust this adjust that... the aim is to get 1 good shot, then yes... but if for casual/normal usaga like outing la etc... its not so practical, cos u dun have time.. i tried once on a model shoot with my WB card, give up after 15mins... anyway most of my shots without using it i could manage to adjust to achieve the same results of those i use the WB card...
