is there a point in posting such large images? rather, i don't understand what you're trying to say other than there's a difference in the WB settings.

One had the white balance set to cloudy, the other was auto.

But what on earth is the point of you posting such large images? Nothing better to do on a sunday?

    oh wait. I sense one.

Feels like sometime related to flash mode, the other auto. But I don't know what it means.

opss, apology for the large image. will take it down shortly.

im a noob, all of you are correct that the difference is the auto and cloudy WB.

was at the central last saturday around 3pm and it's cloudy outside. I thought the WB is to compensate the camera to as close as the human eye, but look like the AUTO is doing a better job than the cloudy.

"Cloudy" is an average preset, Auto will adjust according real input from the scene. So it's obvious that AUTO might do a better job sometimes. But presets have their purpose as well. The third option is WB tools (exposdisk, graycard) and the 4th option is RAW. Many ways to skin a cat, find your own preference - and how to resize images for posting.

    Cloudy

    Auto

This scene, the cloudy seems better than auto.

There are many of such pictures showcasing the effect. What is your point?
