G10 produces nice sharp pics on the subject. Bro' how come you are telling us about going parallel to the butt and opening up the aperture etc. but didn't apply the rule yourself?

Neoro was in fact spending most of his time playing around with another 'power tool' not posted here.

Didn't really fall back on the G10, I'm just using it for some macro fun! nothing beats the convenience of a P&S with ready 1 button macro ready

Background clutter due to insufficient depth thinnest as I was usually used to I guess.

Sold my gears to go other formats.

I maybe 2 or 3 degrees off parallel from the butt, hence the slight OOF at its head and endge of its wings, but I guess the main reason why, was cause I went too open @ F2.8. Probably stopping down to 3.5 might give me a better yield, but since i'm shooting form a compact, my depth of field isn't that thin, so I won't be able to achieve the desired "blurred out" background as easily as larger sensors.

Where got power toy, its an old rusty toy, still operating....

oh i see.. Was that G10+DCR250 or any other close up filters, or G10 alone?
Last time i thought of getting that combination but was worried that the internal flash might be blocked by the filter.

Yes, I have read elsewhere smaller sensors produced deeper DOF but end up sharpening the background. It really depends on what you want and what you are prepared to lug around.

These 'toys' are not for the faint-hearted ones like me, you know.
