Question Distortion with S2 pro?

hi there,
I'm thinking of getting the fuji S2 pro as I have some nikon mount tamron lenses...
I'm wondering, if the optics for such lenses are supposedly optimised for the normal 35mm film size, wld this in turn lead to distortion when I use my lenses on the S2 Pro?
TIA!

No, if anything, any edge softness or distortions are eliminated as the S2 Pro's CCD sensor captures the image from the centre 2/3 (approximate size) of the normal full frame - like all the other non-full frame DSLRs. This is the much mooted issue of the 1.5x crop factor that gives you the impression that your 200mm lens gets you an equivalent of a 300mm focal length.

yup
so distortion esp at the edges will be eliminated with any dSLR except the 1Ds and probably the 1D (not sure).

however this also means you lose the effect of fisheye if you own a fisheye lens.
