D100 replacement

Has anyone any information on the new D100 replacement? Seem like everywhere is out of stock.
According to rumors I have heard is that nikon will have a new model replacing the D100 near christmas. Can anyone confirm this rumor ?

For what I know is , on August 8, 2003, Nikon applied for a trademark registration on the mark "D70" . Will this model be replacing it?

what i know for sure is, there won't be a relacement model for D100 come christmas time. probably next year.

Maybe the reason, the D100 is out-of-stock is because Nikon Singapore is withholding the stocks for the upcoming SITEX next week?
They might have a promo then.

If they release their existing stocks and ran out during SITEX.
Not very nice for Nikon Singapore right?

What they'd do is just accept backorders, when the new stocks come they'll just ask the buyers to come and collect.

But what you said is possible to an extent, and if you don't whack during SITEX, likely is that there won't be any spare pieces after SITEX either.

I know nikon always freeze their stock 1 month before the launch of their new model.

No, all the signs point to the D70 being the direct competitor to the 300D, and therefore a model down from the D100.

It's highly unlikely Nikon would choose a Singapore event to launch a camera. Next big one will be PMA in February.
