Default In Just 9 Days

It is interesting to see how these Cats grow from a baby to the stage where it starts forming into a pupa. These 2 pictures were captured about 9 days apart. Based on my judgement, the babies are about 3-4mm long and the full catapiller length of about 60-80mm.

This is very interesting observation by CSers. Not sure if it is normal for this species' caterpillars to over-grow on one tree until they are left with no food and die. By right birds are supposed to keep the population in check.

Are our birds too well-fed with left-over food in hawker centers?

I m wondering why the female laid their eggs only on this small tree. There were so much of these caterpillars on this tree & doubt its enough to feed all of them. Alot of them are dropping off the empty branches & left to die or wriggling into the bushes nearby. Dun think many of them survive....
