Question Trekking raincoat

The weather these days have not been pleasant, and I fear we may encounter rain during our weekend trip to Chek Jawa, Pulau Ubin. For being paranoid, I wish to obtain a raincoat, one caters for covering a backpack as well.

Not too large, as the "backpack" i use is just a Tamrac Velocity 8x (sling-backpack hybrid). I wish to shield it (and myself) since it does not have an AW cover like some Lowepro models.

What types of raincoats have you used in trips before that felt made you feel good and safe about your backpack? I am only slightly over 5"

get the SAF / SPF issue type of Poncho / Ground Sheet from army market at beach road? unless you intend to shoot when its raining, the poncho provide alot of cover. cheap and good.

I agree with headfonz. It has sleeves. However i dont use the sleeves as well. Just try to hide your hands under the poncho and manage yr gears from under. Should work.

I guess need to see how the models with sleeves look like first. I really dont like operating with a sleeve-less poncho.

If you don't mine spending a bit more, visit Camper's Corner at Stanford House or one of the shops at Velocity in Novena for those that keep you dry and ventilates well for comfort.
