Hi ,
I got this lens 10-24mm F3.5-4.5 on my D300 one week ago and its almost comparable to my another 14-24mm AF-S F2.8 FX on my D3X .
CA,Sharpness and Barrel Distortion was very hard to spot.
I take all my photos in RAW file .
Its a replacement over the 12-24mm F4 that I am still still owing it in which I guess its a total different perspective and the depth of field is different too.
Photos taken by 10-24mm are very sharp from corner to corner from F4 to F 8 .
Barrel Distortion is Excellent to very good from 10-24mm with good control through out .
Prices is almost the same as 12-24 F4 (Made In Japan ) and 10-24mm (Made In China)Product's Quality control is very good .
Try it before buying it as your criteria may be different from mine as I only take Landscape and Macro Only.
take care

Nice! I appreciate your feedback LK as i have yet to find official reviews about the product on websites.. i am eyeing this lens as my landscape lens.. is there a very big difference between 12-24 and 10-24?

i want to get 10-24 for landscapes and replace my 18-105 with the 18-200 as i experience the limitation quite a lot when i am after the reach..

Add: hope some one compare it with 10.5mmf2.8 with this 10-24mm on a DX body

thanks for the link.. i noticed the 10-24 @ 10mm is different than the 14-24 @14mm in a sense that the 10mm's sample pic is not as wide as the 14mm.. is this possible? or is it because the cam was placed different position between the 2 lens?

it would be nice if we have a sample of the 10-24 with CPL to see how it performs with filters.

ermm.. 10-24 is not a constant f2.8 lens.. how to compare, and this area already lose.

The 14-24 is shot on a D700.. FX cam. So.. 14mm is true 14mm.. while 10mm on DX is 15mm.

If you notice the 10mm for 10-24 and the 14mm for 14-24, the left lower corner leaves are not as distinct as on the 10-24.. while 14-24 can see the individual leaves.

even if you compare 10-24's 10mm and 14-24's 15mm, somehow the FOV for the 14-24 is bigger (even though they should have the same FOV).

i mean we dun even need to compare the IQ of the 2. its very obvious which is better, and to me, the difference in IQ is still doubtful to me, if it is worth that much mroe $$$.

Any alternatives other than 14-24mm on D700.
As in anything cheaper but gives almost the same result??

eh... did you read properly?

the 10-24 is a DX lens shot on a d5000.

the 14-24 is a FX lens shot on d700.

of course you are going to get a different view...
