Default Post-processing on a Mac

What are people using for post-processing Olympus Raw files on a Mac ? I've just been using iPhoto so far because it's convenient, but I've noticed that the ORF files imported into iPhoto are softer than the images converted to jpg using Olympus Master/Studio. Problem of course, is that Olympus Studio is pay-ware and it's a bit of pain to have to convert raw files using Studio and then import the images into iPhoto for cataloging etc.

What are the alternatives ? I imagine the Aperture raw converter will be no different from iPhoto since they're both from Apple. Unfortunately, Olympus Studio doesn't behave properly when it's set as the external editor in iPhoto, so that easy solution is out.

Suggestions, anyone ? Ironically, the jpegs straight out of the camera seem sharper than the raw files converted by iPhoto (but not as sharp as the raw files converted by Olympus Studio)

I use Phase One Capture One for Mac, though I cannot upgrade any longer as they don't support my CPU with updates.

Aperture is unlikely to use the same image processing as iPhoto and Preview.

Lightroom is also available, as well as Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.

I'm not sure if I'm helping here because I don't shoot RAW. I use Lightroom on my Mac Mini for general viewing and processing. I don't do photography for a living, so to me, the Jpegs from Olympus DSLR is more than good enough for what I want to show people.

You may want to try the Mac version of Picassa. It's still in beta though...

I am using Silkypix RAW developer for all RAW conversions. Their support for RAW files are quite fast too. The ability to go 16bit at conversion from source is good for further processing work in Photoshop.

For the cheap, there is always Olympus Master.
