Default i broke Raynox dcr250 that i just bought ='(

    good day everyone,

i just dealed with a seller and bought raynox dcr 250.
i was so happy and all excited with it. so tried it with all my different lenses.
when i wanted to change to my 50mm lens, i clipped it to my lens.
and i didnt mean to just let go the clip(spring) like that.
the next thing i know, the clip that hold the lens, broke( only one side of it)

do u know whether i can get a spare part for that?
its the part that hold the filter(raynox).

or if there isnt, how can it be helped?
only idea in my mind is, super glue it back.

thanks. and im very sad. (:

If you did not loose any broken parts, get the aerodyne (can't remember the spelling) with A + B for plastic or metal depending on what is broken.

Mixed them well and apply stick them together and keep the parts together. The non quick dry is stronger than the quick dry. Once full 24hrs sets in, the parts cannot be removed, so make sure you fit the join well.

Yes, Homefix, large supermart. Mix the recommended proportion.

A+B are many time stronger than superglue, so make sure you dispose leftover properly and let the parts set in maturely.

Another alternative would be to use a stepping ring, but doing that will lose the flexibility of changing lenses as and when... and you'd need to have a few stepping rings if you have lenses with different thread sizes.

    Hi All,

The universal adapter that comes with the DCR-250 is made of special ABS/PC plastic which is strong enough for holding the weight of the macro lens and to clip securely to the camera body.

IF you press the spring properly and not abruptly when releasing, the clip/protrusion should not break.

However we do have clients who broke it due to negligence or mishandling, such as putting it on the sofa when not in used and then the kids sit on it, etc.

Suggest it is better to replace it with a new one rather than spending time and money to get some super glue to rectify the issue.

As the Authorised Agent of Raynox in South East Asia (http://raynox.co.jp/contact/worldcontact.htm), we do keep stock of the adapter from time to time. I think we still have a few pieces left only. To those who would like to get extra adapters, you may call our Raynox Hotline 6389-1734 for price and collection details.

At this moment, we only offer to clients who purchased from us before as stock is limited.

    Cheers,
    Jim, McGill.

i just tried putting the epoxy resin, but attempt failed.

my eyes turned wide opened, when after i glued it and waited for about 30mins to let it dry,
then i tried it on, i was LUCKY my lens is facing my sofa, then suddenly, i heard a loud click sound, it flew off to my sofa. so looks like i have to get a new adapter.

    =(

    30min, that's a long short of 24hrs?

But better buy a new on if not I kana blame for breaking the expensive parts.

    haha yeap! thanks alot spheredome.

i'll be collecting the spare part this sunday. thanks alot everyone. problem solved!

    in conclusion, please be gentle.
and dont asume that things that u think wont be able to break wont break.
cos it will break if youre ungentle to them. (:
    lesson learnt! =)

    yeap.

before it broke, i tried a few shots, and i realise that macro photography
is really very difficult for a beginner? and it needs SO SO SO SO much of patience.

hopefully i can learn more from CS regarding Macros. (:

is it really hard at first?

do u use manual or auto focus?

i always use manual and set to infinite focus so i get more close, but they ALL TURNED BLUR! =(
