105AFD upgrade to 105VR??

any1 have used both lenses b4 and have any coments on their performance
i was wondering if it was worth the extra 7-800 $$

will be necessary?
if u already own 105mm f/2.8D.
to be upgrade from AF to AF-S?
not must diff. from D to G version.
G version have VR and SWM, but some time is very fast focusing until out of focus,
becuase of SWM.
i will perfer u keep AFD is better for macro in handy shoots.
