Hiee...
I read in the practical photography mag that there is actually a "military issue" nikon which is speciafically of militatry specs. It was used in one of the expedition to Everest i think. And one more thing..... NIkon actually made a left handed body and it was tested by kenrockwell...... go to his website and you can see he is using a left handed nikon body.... www.kenrockwell.com rgds, me |

Unbelievable. It's crazy even to think about the amount of shots that were taken on film. It almost 30,000 rolls of 36 film...

Maximum lifespan isn't that useful IMO, how about asking around to see if anyone's F5 has had shutter failure before and at how many cycles? Is the 150 000 cycle rating a MTBF or minimum value?

That's about 27000 rolls of film. The film and dev cost is enough to buy any top end dSLR many times over.
Note also that his camera was serviced regularly. Most of us only send ours in when something goes wrong, so our cameras are unlike to hit those figures. (Heck - do you have enough money to buy and develop 27000 rolls of film?) |
