thanks for this.
I am a Nikon D40X user and have been thinking of upgrading. Have been exploring and reading up on various options, Canon Mrk II, Sony A900 and now back to Nikon again. So, it looks like back to Nikon. But still not sure which model though. ![]() |

The choice is clear depending on your needs. D90, D300, D700 or D3?

NIkon and Canon both offer high quality systems and either would be a good choice for a photographer. I chose Nikon because a Nikon was my first "serious" camera and was pleased with the results. They have not given me a reason to leave.
ReallySmartOne- since your D40x is a DX sized camera you will probably want to stick with a DX body so that your current lenses will work on your new body- otherwise you may have to replace them as well. That would probably mean the D90 or D300. D5000 would probably not be enough of a jump from what you currently have. Your budget will probably influence your decision. In your position, I would be more likely to go with the D90 over the D300.

All depends on your budget and what you'd want to do...

These reasons are for nikon professionals. Definitely not what a hobbyist can achieve.

thanks for your advice
![]() Actually thought of getting a FF. So am reading up on the D700. At the moment, I only have a kit lens and the 18-200, so this will be of no use for the FF camera. |

The "Dark" side are always sexy & power. I'm use to be from the white side but now "Black" is the "IN" thing

This reminds me of the movie "Under Fire" starring Nick Nolte and ED Harris
I wonder where can I buy the DVD?
