Hi..
I sent my DA16-45 F/4 for service at Shriro Malaysia as i found out its hardly lock (focus) at 16-17mm. The technician called me today said they will need to send the lens to Japan to change part as they didn't have any spare part for the replacement. Warranty is over and according from them i will need to bare the courrier cost as much as RM200-300 and this haven't include the price for the replacement part.Personally, i think it is not worth it as if i need to fork out ard RM500 just for the spare part replacement and courrier. So, it is possible that i send the lens to repair at Singapore with less cost?? Please advice. Thank you. |

RM200-300 covers more than just courier cost right? At any rate, it is not an unreasonable amount because it probably covers labour charges. I think whichever lens sent back to Japan when out of warranty will incur a minimum repair charge, except that in the context of a not too expensive lens like the DA 16-45mm, it is a hefty amount percentage wise. Well repairing it is definitely still cheaper than buying it new.
