dear all,
are there shops that sell 3rd party reliable batteries for D60? furthermore i am heading up north for a short holiday and will be taking intensive photos (i think), i am wondering if it is adviseable to switch on the cam only when you abt to use it and off immediately OR just leave it on for good period of time. my concern is that the constant activation and deact will trigger the dust control measures and thus perhaps increase unnecessary wear and tear? but when battery life and potential heating is concern, what is a better approach? thanks in advance |

Leave it on.DSLRs are suppose to save batteries thats why the LCD will go off in awhile.Went to redang 2 mnths back, left it on when going around shooting, the battery can last me for the whole day only. Then u gotta charge. So i missed alot of night shots.I would recommend you to buy 2 extra battery.1 in ur cam 1 as backup the other as another backup.

try the mass sales section. Phottix and camera devices are the common brands in CS

you can switch it on when you want to start taking pictures, and leave it on for a while. don't repeatedly switch on and off. when you think you are done and wont be shooting for a while, you can switch it off. but having spare batteries is a good idea

2) u can off ur dust control system. 3) a safer bet will be to buy the original ones. its not very expensive compared to ur camera and ur trip and the risk of having a screwed up experience overseas.

I believe you can switch off the sensor cleaning feature in the setting.
For me, i just leave the camera on throughout the duration i'm shooting... it'll go into sleep mode (duration can be set) after a while... half pressing the shutter will wake it up and you are good to go... keep switch on and off and on and off will drain the battery faster, or so i was taught. ![]() Enjoy your trip ![]()

I got mine from the Mass Sale section, reliable seller. I've got 2 so far and both works great. The phottix batt seems to be of good quality.

You can buy at MS Color, AMK hub.
I bought 2 from there but do phone and ask first, just in case they run out of stock. ![]() |
