Thread: Which package to get for D60?

Default Which package to get for D60?

I asked around about what freebies are included with the D60.

Package 1 (from Alan Photo Funan)
    Price: $860
Freebies: SD 8GB, Tripod, Cleaning Kit, Bag.

    Package 2 (from John 3:16)
    Price: $850
    Freebies: 4GB Card, Tripod, Bag.

I don't know which one to get.
There ain't much difference in price, and what's more Alan Photo's offering much more freebies.
My only concern is the attitude and stories I've heard about the Alan Photo people.
Opinions on the package deals please?

    Thanks in advance.

are you sure you want a D60? you would be locked into getting motor lenses.

as long the warranty is Nikon local...just ask everywhere including Cathay photo and MS color. might get better deal especially if pay in cash.

If I were you, I'd get from 3:16... you may pay a tiny fraction more for that kind of excellent (but not pushy) service.
    from guitars, cars to dslr...

And the assurance of after-sales service. AP probably won't remember you.

Thanks all for the advice so far, keep them coming please!

I still don't really know which one to go for, but do you think an 4GB card is suitable for D60? Opinions on this as well please, thanks loads!

4gb or 32gb depends on how many shots you take at one shot and whether too troublesome to carry many memory cards on you.

    i myself carry a couple of 4gb, 8gb and a few 16gb.

4GB to me is sufficient, do think of a situation when you use a 8GB/16GB/32GB memory card and store all your images inside and suddenly your card gets corrupted. I think everything would be lost. so if you carry smaller size cards like 2GB/4GB you may have to carry a few, but you could be assured that even if your card gets corrupted, it will be limited to that 2GB/4GB that you lose. And you still would have images in the rest of the cards to show your work/memories.

    But thats just me
