Hi all,
Do you have any idea where i can get the Arca Swiss style ball head locally to use RRS L plate for 5D MKII? I prefer to get from retail instead of internet order or better still, from 2nd hand source. My budget is approx $200. Thanks a lot. ![]() |

I'm pretty sure any good ballhead w/ dovetail plate for a heavy setup will cost much more than $200.
Markins, Kangrinpoche, Acratech, Arca Swiss, Kirk. They will all be much more expensive. Markins starts at $400+. Arca Swiss starts at $600+ IIRC.

The clamps of Benro ballheads cannot accept RRS L-brackets. They may look like it but they can't.

Benro and RRS both uses the Arca Swiss standard, maybe some of the Benro lower end models may not fit as they are non Arca Swiss standard. I think the B1 and J1 would be fine, though I am not absolutely sure.

What about KangRinpoche NB2-A with P4 Plate ball head? What is a quick release plate?
Thanks a lot. ![]() |

Basically if your setup is heavy, you need to be wary about anything releasing quickly. It has to be proven and tested, else your equipment may end up releasing itself. Based on your budget, a good ballhead is still far away, I would recommand you to save on the L Plate and buy a good ballhead first with a standard arca swiss plate
