Are you planning to do some architecture photography of the buildings? I shot there before, should be ok (IMHO). If you have any doubts, you can always call JTC (they owns the plot of land, AFAIK / IIRC) or be a ninja warrior.

Just don't use a big mama lens to zoom-in on the offices, some of them are involve in sensitive R&D projects and might be designated as protected area. Once again, informations are AFAIK / IIRC.

My company supplies power outlet systems to some of the labs there.
It was difficult enough for us to take interior shots for our own corporate project references.
A lot of hassle, equipment checks and identity checks, even when my colleague and I had been given the all-clear by the management for that particular date and time.

For the exterior shots, we tried our luck as we were leaving. Stopped the car by the street within the biopolis compound and I started taking shots of the exterior of the particular building. Got told off by the security guard. But no demand for the photos to be deleted were made. Just told us to leave immediately.

So as long as you're within the Biopolis compounds, I believe photography is restricted. But if you were by the main road and using Biopolis as a backdrop, it shouldn't be a problem.

My opinion, no problem if your main purpose is not to portray the buildings intentionally as they are.
The Biopolis houses labs doing sensitive government-related R&D though so you might still want to do a check with the relevant bodies before going ahead.

The Biopolis is a PITA to shoot, I was stopped by a CISCO guard and my particulars taken down, he told me to get permission from JTC to photograph.

There're CISCO guards patrolling the area and you'll be stopped when taking photos, there is an invisible fence and eyes in the sky.

I don't understand the point of building beautiful buildings by Zaha Hadid and not allowing it to be photographed in Buona Vista.

If there are sensitive project and JTC wants total control of it, might as well build it in Tuas with fence and triple con wire.

Was stopped by a Cisco guard as well while taking photos. Told me to call JTC to request for permission.

They can't anyhow put up such signs unless the area has been gazetted by the Government

I learned from a Jackie Chan's film that the sign is meant for children only.

    Maybe for Jackie Chan.

We've rules of engagement when doing protection of installation and you don't want to know the consequences.

Fair enough, I don't mind if there is a sign with the "No photography" but it's in the middle of the HDB heartland.
