Street photographyis a great way to get candid shots. Showing up in a large group, lenses and cameas waving, is not a great way to get candid shots.

I did! I held the Nikon D90 and Canon 450D with their kit lenses to get a feel for them. The Nikon felt a bit heavy. Canon was noticeably lighter, which is an advantage for me. I can't carry much of a load for long before getting backache.

then perhap you want to consider 500D, it is much lighter and smaller in size. D90 is alittle heavier. anyway you should not consider only the weight of the body, you should aware of the len you will be getting in future. they weigh even more on certain lens.

![]() At CP today I also looked at tripods. Impressed with the Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 and 190CXPRO4. Just debating whether or not I should go to the 055CXPRO3/4. Bit bigger and heavier. |

As soon as I can make up my mind! Lol.
As I see it...Nikon looks to be a bit of a winner in terms of picture quality and a whole host of other things... http://www.digitalreview.ca/content/...ikon-D90.shtml Downside to Nikon really is the weight. And they don't seem to have the Canon L series F/4 range of lenses...just go straight to the top with the F/2.8 which I'd never get due to weight and cost. Canon is great for weight and I think I prefer the lenses (purely personal opinion, don't want to start any wars). But I really am worried about the noise with cramming 15MP onto the same size sensor. And plus there is no official review on it yet like at dpreview.com. I don't want to buy something that hasn't been officially reviewed. |

i have check thru 500D and i find it quite good noise control on ISO 3200. but in terms of build in function i think d90 is provide more.

It's a possibility I guess. Shame it doesn't have the lovely 3" 920,000 dot screen. And lacks the autofocus motor in the body. But otherwise there doesn't seem to be too much missing I guess.
The price really isn't that much cheaper than the D90, looking at digitalrev.com. Strange. |
