colour dilemma

as some of you may know, i actually offloaded my entire dslr setup a short while back and moved into shooting film. no regrets though.

but facing a wee bit of a dilemma now as some of my work do require colour, the very saturated sort. the easy answer is of course to shoot E6... but there is no lab here where I am that processes it. Any recommendations for a super saturated C41 that can give as close a result as Velvia? Or should I just break the piggy bank and pick up a DRF...

Would be happy to hear your input

shoot Kodak portra with a contrasty lens then!

Where are you at? Photohub processes E6.

Or use normal negs & do some PP after scanning them?

Portra. Hmmm. Will get a roll to try when I come back to sg this weekend.

Alternative is to be patient. Haha... wait 2-3 months each time after shooting then process them the next time I come back.

Royale: based in Indonesia at the moment... for another year more or so. The reason why I'm asking is I don't quite like the result from adding saturation to my negative scans. It's fine for web viewing though. But it starts to have artifacts show up on large(r) prints....

Dove: Perfect! Now.. question is... where to buy? Ruby dun open on Sundays do they?... Would ColourLab@Adelphi stock this?

isnt ektak 100vs e6 process?

in any case, portra vc will not give anything near slide colors....

Its Ektar... and not Ekta... I was initially confused too, until I googled.

I guess the marketing folks at Kodak wanted to hint at its "closeness" to E6 in terms of colours and saturation. Thus a very similar name. Ektar. Ektachrome.
