I come across this brand when I read a blog can find the website: http://www.singh-ray.com/index.html seems that it is as expensive as B+W tier. Any idea how is the performance? |

B+W is the BMW of the filter,
Singh-Ray is just like the Rolls Royce, so, what do you think? |

of course this is not always true, but if singh ray has been around for QUITE A WHILE, and it has remained around, it means people are buying from it... and if they are buying from it, there are not that many stupid people around to pay a premium for something that's not that fantastic. the only trouble is, do you think you yourself need such a premium filter? i don't, i'm just a hobbyist, i 'm not willing to pay that much for a filter. maybe some day when i have more money. ![]() that said, these filters are fantastic, not just apparently because they're easier to clean and what not, such things hardly matter to be honest... but because they deliver in terms of evening out exposure in-cam, and they have so many types that are useful (e.g. reverse nd grad).. that other brands usually do not have. |

Hi bro, me the hobbyist as you, hehe. Looking at the price so scaring itchy to know how good is it. just like when ppl get to know the Rolls Royce /maybath so expense compared to Merc of couse are curious to know how good is it? Is it just feeling of prestige or more on the marginal comfort that it can provide. Same to the filter... just curious to know how much is the marginal improvement of utility we can have from those high-end filter. ![]() ![]() |

oh wait, no..
well, here is one guy that uses singh ray.. marc adamus.. you can have fun looking at his pictures, but he is really good as a landscape photographer. i caution you not to fall in the way of get singh-ray filter = good pictures, there is a lot more than that. darwin wiggett is another one... and you can also look at kah kit yoong's work, he is very hot in naturescapes.net. ![]() but really, filters are just tools, there are other premium brands like LEE and i think HI-TECH (from formatt), these cost a lot also, adam burton uses lee, jay patel uses hi-tech, as does patrick de fruscia |
