Default Flexible IR Conversion

I'm not so sure if anyone has tried this before.
The concept is to change the band-pass filter with a clear window glass.
Then you can simply screw-in any IR filter in front of the lens.

Advantages:
- One camera for different IR effect (full B/W, Hoya R72, ELP, goldie, visible)
- Camera can still be used for normal shooting ( although sensitive to the color red and the H-Alpha wavelength important for some deep sky imaging)

Disadvantages:
- A bit difficult to compose except for visible IR
- Bigger filter (but there are cheap available filters)
- Needs different filter sizes if you have different lenses

Will try to post the results if I could find sometime to shoot this weekend

Did I miss any pros/cons?
Not so sure if it's really worth trying

i've done this before(just for experiment). Using UV filter to replace the hot mirror.
the result?

1. with special preset, i can get tone like visible iR.
2. with normal preset, i still can get normal colour.
3. Exposure? hmm..this is the problem...it's getting worse..(if u take a shot during day light, sky will always over exposure)
4. You can shot at night

good luck

*i'm stop this experiment, coz mostly, customer doesn't wanna to do a lot of work while taking picture(preparing a lot of filter...then use it if wanna move to full iR/goldie/BW..and they can't see anything through view finder)

yes, it works
-- when take IR mount a IR filter (after focus, zoom and all set up, mount the filter can see almost nothing through viewfinder) re-adjust the focus ring to IR point
-- when take a normal photo you need mount a CC1 filter for blocking the IR light, almost same with standard cam.
-- always use a bigger size filter with stepping ring.
