Yet another recommendations for tripod thread

I done some searching around the forum but it's practically information overload, too many varied recommendations. I understand the advice of picking out 2 of 3 characteristics of tripods: weight, stability & price.

My current tripod is a crap (read: cheap) tripod that weighs 1.75kg and doesn't inspire much confidence while using it, it wobbles like crazy.

My heaviest setup should weigh just about 2kg. I'm looking to get a tripod that preferably weighs within 1.5kg, able to support my setup of 2kg & fits within my budget of $300 (prolly can stretch it slightly).

Are tripods going to be cheaper to get in Hong Kong?

only "china" brand tripods can fit your budget and your ideal weight of 1.5kg.

btw your information also not enough for us to give correct suggestion.
like height requirement,ballhead or pan head etc...

I didn't think there was a tall & lightweight tripod.

Please recommend tripod of height preferably around 1.5m (±5cm) & ballhead. I guess if it can get me a better tripod, I'm willing to stretch the budget to maximum of $400. Thanks.

Manfrotto tripod but will weighs the same as your current setup but more stable.

what about Manfrotto 190CXPRO3? Cost around $450, but weighs 1.3kg. Supports 5kg.
