So i can just bring my G10 for the "free repair"? Mine is xxx80xxxxx but I have not noticed the image defect as yet.

Mine's xxx80xxxxx as well but I haven't encountered any 'lines' issues that was described in the service notice. Nevertheless I called Canon HarbourFront to find out more about this. It seems to be a hardware defect and if I send it in, they will replace the affected hardware and give additional 3 months warranty on the replaced hardware only and not the full camera. I think I will hang on to my set for now.
