24-70 f2.8 or 24-105 f4?

I'm kinda stumped...

I'm using a 1.6 crop camera, and intend to get something with a useful range.

I 'somehow' find the 17-55 a little short, so im kinda wondering, if you would choose between:

24-70 with faster F2.8, but no IS and less reach

or

24-105 though with slower F4.0, comes with IS and more reach

what would you choose?

Of course, both are L grade lenses and FF-ready, so those factors are non-comparable...

here you go

for me i'll get 24-70f2.8L for cropped bodies, 70mm on cropped is long enough + f/2.8.

hmm... cos currently im on 17-50 and it feels so short... haha.

i was thinking of how to build up a range from wide to tele...

10-22 is probably an auto inclusion...

next would be either 24-70 or 24-105

then would be 70-200...

probably many would suggest 24-70 and 70-200, but im wondering if 24-70 may be a little short for a good walkabout range, though i've never tried a 24-70 or 24-105 personally to actually be able to judge...

A lot of 70-105f4 being sold on the B&S. I wonder what they are replacing that lens with?
