this is an eqiupment discussion forum, not picture critique forum.
pictures should go to the photo galleries.

only technical images and discussions are allowed here.

meaning not just a thread where you dump all your photos from an outing or shoot. or those heavily processed images. preferably images straight from the camera will be good.

i just tried the 500d @ courts yesterday. too bad didn't bring my own sd card, if not can come back and review the pics. the camera is impressive even under iso3200 ( zoomed in to see ) all AF points were very responsive under low light and most importantly.. the screen was razor sharp ( with futuristic menu transitions to boot.. haha )

your comment is equal to saying that this driver is not doing justice to this car

well, i think he would have received harsher comments from C&C.

blurred pictures, OOF pictures.. what's more?

maybe TS can take more pictures, not just the guitar itself.. and read up in the meantime.

those pics were taken indoors.
Not a newbie but OOT (Out-Of-Touch) user.

previously used a D70 and that was 4 years ago.
so, do comment on how I can improve my shot.

will upload other shots soon.
still experimenting the 500D and using only 'M' mode.

please don't forget the purpose of such threads. it's to showcase what the camera is able to, and it's not a C&C thread.

to prevent blur, you can either

1. bump up iso
2. faster shutter speeds ( since u're using M )
3. larger aperture ( maybe you can try using A instead? "semi-auto" may work better for you now )
4. shorter focal length (wide end of your kit lens)
5. use flash with diffuser ( like your closeups of the guitar )
6. train your handheld skills ( inhale deep, exhale then shoot )
7. forgot to turn your IS on ?

for OOF shots, select just 1 AF point and not auto select points. keep the body stable and shoot, shouldn't be a problem.

i'm a noob too, so that's what i can come up with for now. definitely not exhaustive.

happy playing with the camera!
