Sent in my MKII today. Was in Shanghai and the autofocus failed. the multipoint AF could not focus properly. The AF would try very hard to focus but could not achieve a lock. it didn't hunt. it just sorta tried to forcus around the marco segment and image remained blur and could not take the shot.
It was still okay with a single point. Tried a few lense and problem still persisted. Anyone come across this problem? |

Hi itchyfingers,
So far my camera will out of focus sometime while multipoint AF shooting fast moving object(my baby boy), but not like yours out of focus while shooting still object. Do let us know what is the problem... I subscript your treat. p.s did you adjust the micro setting in the camera?

I to a select only one of the 9 AF point to auto focus.
Have no need to have the all the 9 points activated at the same time..(as in the automatic selection) |

Hi, Sorry i didn't check back here for a few days. I got it back fixed. Apparently, they 'resoldred' something and it works fine now. This problem occured in full auto (green mode) and in any mode where the multi-point AF was selected.
I don't use multip-point AF normally, but i happened to encounter this problem when i passed it to someone to take a pic and because there was no focus, the camera could not take the picture. It was taking in excess of 10 secs to achieve a AF lock and most of the times, it could not do so. Anyway, its fixed. thanks! |
