Need help and advice on IR photo taking

Hi there,

Still a novice, I'm using a Canon 300D rite now. Got interested into IR pics.
Can my camera have the capabilities to do so?

Actually I bought an Massa IR filters 67mm, but i guess I cant take any pix with it..
Cos it is total darkness?? lolz..

any advice?
